Wizards and adventurers all happily start messing with any kind of bright and ominous glowing artifact they find in a ruin if they find it profitable in any way, be it knowledge on the undefied powers that forged the world, some kind of new sword or, god forbid, the friendship’s power. How many skulls are engraved on the thing, doesn’t matter anyway.
Sure, mages might be more prepared and have the right reasons to do it… sometimes. But the fact that they’re toying with dangerous powers is unchanged, and when they fail, they fail big. Most of such failures change and reshape the world around them. Generally, taking the form of a smoking crater, or maybe something with abundant tentacles.
Argus windell, the protagonist of Zenith PC Game, used to be a pretty good wizard, or precisely an Arcanologyst. He has he knowledge of everything there is about ancient artifacts, but an apocalypse that was set off in the middle of a war made his views change on the whole “lets unveil the mysteries of the universe” thing. So he took retirement, trying to find peace and quiet.
But in Zenith PC Game it is not going to be an easy task to get as the world is full of spike-haired buffoons who carry their humongous swords around and mess everything thing up.
